The 14th Annual PURE Center Lincoln Luncheon is coming up and members are inviting you to come and join in the festivities.

The event is a celebration of President Abraham Lincoln’s birthday as well as one of the largest fundraisers for the Putnam Underground Railroad Education Center. This year organizers say there will be plenty of food and entertainment. Guest speaker, Dr. Anita Jackson will perform a special tribute during the luncheon.

"It’s a one woman show that I do. It’s a skit that I do about Anna Maria Gant. We talk a lot about Nelson T Gant, however this play is from the perspective of Anna Maria Gant his wife," said Jackson.

The event will also recognize Zanesville native the late, Harley Flack who who was President of Wright State University. Tickets for the luncheon are $25 per person and the money raised will go back into funding for the PURE Center’s costs and activities.

"This goes to projects that we do there in terms of the upkeep of the PURE Center, purchasing materials that we need to keep the program running there at the PURE center," said Jackson.

The event will be held on Wednesday, February 12 at the Zanesville Country Club starting at Noon. For more information or to make a reservation you can call the PURE Center by phone at 740-450-3100.
