Escape into a Good Book

If you’re feeling trapped by the winter weather and are looking to escape a good book may cure the season’s blues.

The Muskingum County Library System is getting set to launch its "Book bags to Go" for adults. The bags contain three books. All adults have to do is pick a bag, borrow the books, return the books when finished and the bag is yours to keep.

The staff uses their creativity in choosing the books for each bag.

"People really enjoy discovering what the staff is recommending and trying out some different authors or genres," explained Assistant Director Blair Tom. "We encourage people beginning Wednesday to visit any of their six public libraries and borrow their book bag to go."

This year Tom said 750 bags of books will be borrowed. The library will also make surfing their website easier as they prepare to launch a new site on Thursday. The new site is more user friendly and has a cleaner feel.

"We’re hearing that it’s much easier and we’re really encouraged by that because as you go through the process of course that’s always the goal," said Tom. "But, until eyes are on it and other users are experiencing it you’re never quite sure."

And if you’re getting ready to tackle your taxes the libraries have the State of Ohio 1040 EZ form and this week their shipment of Federal Forms will arrive.
