With 1 in 6 seniors going hungry on a daily basis, the Muskingum County Center for Seniors is "Leading the Fight Against Senior Hunger," a theme they’ve established for their upcoming events.

The center is currently seeking non-perishable food donations for their food drive and are selling tickets to their Valentine’s Day Raffle.

"Our Valentine’s Day Raffle is 31 gifts gift bag and it’s an organizing utility tote with a zipper top and in it, we have 31 gifts," said support services director Debra Smith.

Some of those 31 gifts include a one-hour photo session, a Valentine’s sweetheart cake, gift cards and more. Another fundraiser is they have planned is their Chinese-Auction/Benefit Dance.

"The music’s gonna be by Brenda Sue and the Out-of-Towners of February 28th and all of the proceeds with the exception of the band, is gonna come back to our food pantry too and the Chinese auction will be given that night. So we’re really looking forward to doing that too."
