The faculty at Zane State College is working towards building a vibrant community in our area.
Two ways they are reaching that goal is through the creation of two centers for higher learning in our area. Yesterday the college hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Advanced Science and Technology Center in Zanesville and on Thursday they celebrated the opening of the EPIC Center in Cambridge. School officials say the building is designed to meet students every need.
"We have in this building eight classrooms, two outstanding laboratories one of the classrooms is actually a tiered seminar room and there is a kitchen cafe, there is a bookstore, we have in addition to all of that beautiful indoor and outdoor student lounges for our students," said Executive Director of Institutional Advancement College Foundation, Zane State College.
The building also features a wind turbine, community rooms and a bridge that connects the center to the rest of campus. President of Zane State, Paul Brown says that the building is an investment in the future of Southeastern Ohio.
" I believe that we really turned this into college town and Cambridge has really embraced that the population of students here is growing very rapidly and I think the leaders in the community feel that this education facility will take the community to the next level," said Brown.
the EPIC Center will be open to students starting next week and Zane State College would like to thank all of the sponsors and community partners that made their vision a reality.
