Low temperatures overnight and increased electric loads prompt one energy company to issue a peak alert.
Buckeye Power announced the alert will run between 7 a.m. Friday to 9:00 a.m. Friday. A peak alert occurs when the energy cooperative is close to demanding more electric power than they’ve ever used before. The alert is a load management effort used to reduce demand for electricity.
You can help reduce consumption by:
- Lowering your thermostat to 68 degrees or lower
- Turn off lights and appliances you aren’t using
- Delay doing laundry or running the dishwasher until after 9 a.m. Saturday
