Ohio University-Athens is celebrating and promoting innovation throughout southeast Ohio with their annual Innovation Awards, and Ticket Crush is up for an award.

"We’ve been nominated for societal innovation," said Kyle McPeck of Ticket Crush. "Looking for businesses that have made a societal impact or unique product or service here in southeast Ohio, or Ohio in general or even beyond."

McPeck says he’s happy to get recognition for his ticket business, which got its start at the Muskingum County Business Incubator.

"We’ve done that through the ability to actually buy and sell tickets throughout the country from our little office here in Zanesville. So even though we’re not limited by barriers of time and space if you will or location, we’re actually doing business around the world and around the country from someplace you wouldn’t expect us to exist."

The other categories include green innovation, entrepreneur of the year, and outstanding woman in innovation. The awards will be presented March 18 at Baker’s Auditorium in Athens.
