Choosing which college to attend can be difficult for students, but one local program aims to make the transition as simple as possible.

Students from 6th grade all the way to their senior year are encouraged attend the annual Muskingum County Community Foundation’s College Night. Local educators, students and counselors are working together to give visitor’s insight on attending higher education.

"Anything from financial aid, well have financial aid representatives from the area colleges there and answer questions, not just about their colleges but any of the colleges the students are interested in attending, the can discover different careers, " said Director of College Access Programs at the Muskingum County Community Foundation.

The event isn’t just for students in Muskingum County, students from surrounding counties are encouraged to come out . Students who attend not only have a chance to learn, but they also have the chance to win scholarship money.

"We have students that come back every year since we give away scholarships every year and raffle drawings. Some students come back every year just to make sure they could receive another scholarship. We will be raffling of about 20 scholarships to students that just show up and actually attend the event, " said Sands.

College Night will take place on March 13th starting at 6 p.m. at the Zane State – OUZ campus. To register you can visit the Muskingum County Community Foundation Online.
