Christ’s Table Prepares For Homebound Meal Delivery Cancellation

With a winter storm in the forecast, there’s a chance homebound meals won’t be delivered Wednesday. Christ’s Table volunteers spent the day delivering "blizzard meals" for residents enrolled in the program.

"Tomorrow, if this icy weather does come in, we need you to listen to WHIZ and if you’re instructed to use your blizzard meal, put the meal in your freezer today and take that our tomorrow and it can be microwaved," said Keely Warden, executive director at Christ’s Table.

Although the homebound meal program might not be operating, Christ’s Table will remain open on Wednesday.

"We know it’s a little bit harder for people to get here but we will be open. Hot meals will be here. It’s a little treacherous for our volunteers so we want to get the word out. If you don’t feel safe coming, don’t come but we will be open tomorrow unless it’s a level 3."

Christ’s Table is located at 28 S. Sixth Street in downtown Zanesville. For updates on whether or not to use your blizzard meals, stay tuned to WHIZ news or our radio stations.
