The city of Zanesville is opening bids for interested parties to purchase a historic downtown building.

The Zanesville Community Improvement Corporation will accept proposals for the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Saint Louis old passenger train depot. The building is located at 131 Market Street. This is the second time the building is up for sale. There is no minimum bid price for the property and the city is looking for the most appropriate proposal. Zanesville Zoning Administrator, Patrick Denbow says the building does not include parking and is facing a few structural issues, but with the right bidder it has potential to return to its former glory. The current zoning for the structure is C2 community space and is located in the arts and cultural overlay district downtown. Bids will be accepted until April 4 at 4 p.m. If potential bidders would like to see the property or have any questions they can contact the Mayor’s Office by phone at 740- 455-0603. If bidding please include your name, address and time frame of completion for the project.
