Genesis Healthcare hosted their annual Day of Dance at the Colony Square Mall on Saturday.

The event aims to educate visitors about heart health while giving them a chance to get up and get moving through dance. Guests were able to talk to area cardiologists while being scanned for various heart related diseases. The tests were free of charge.

"Today people could come in and get glucose, lipid profile screened , their BMI, their blood pressure, their spirometer, their PAD screening so they could get all those and when they sit with a heat expert they can tell them their risk factors, " said Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Holly Voltz.

The second part of the event was focused on dancing. Dozens of dance groups gathered in the middle of the mall to show off their latest moves and to encourage people to exercise daily. One of the young dancers, Emily McCutheon, says that being active is important for everybody.

"So you’re not doing nothing with your life you’re being motivated to do stuff," said Voltz.

Genesis would like to remind everyone to remember to check on their heart health and would like to thank everyone who attended the event.
