A jury has been seated in the trial of a Zanesville man charged with murder and burning the corpse. There are 10 females and two males on the jury in the case of 20-year-old Shaquille Davis charged in the death of Phillip Kimbro Junior last year. Kimbro’s body was found on fire by a tree trimming crew on County Road 15 in Morgan County. Davis is charged with aggravated murder with a firearm specification, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. Davis is also acting as his own attorney.
During testimony Tuesday afternoon Morgan County Sergeant James Fisher was called as the first prosecution witness. Also testifying today was Joshua Durst from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. He described the crime scene.
