The Attorney General’s Office announced action against a Cambridge horse rescue.

Attorney General Mike DeWine said in the 17 count lawsuit against Frog Pond INC it’s owner, Lisa Gordon, misappropriated funds and failed to register with the state.

The Attorney General’s Charitable Law Section found that Gordon used the organization’s bank account as if it were her own and misappropriated nearly $50,000 between 2011-2013. She also failed to register with the Attorney General’s Office from 2004-2012.

The lawsuit was filed in the Guernsey County Court of Common Pleas.

Frog Pond was incorporated in March of 2004. As a horse rescue it buys or rescues horses from slaughter situations, cares for them and facilitates adoption.

The lawsuit said the organization solicited money from the public by saying donations would be used to rescue horses.
