A John Glenn High School Freshman is named Miss Columbus Teen for 2014 .

Lexi Bubenchik is from Norwich and is a very active high school student. She is a member of the spirit, ambassador and glee club at John Glenn. She says juggling her busy schedule took time and dedication, but she was prepared to win.

"It took a lot of hard work and I got to practice a lot with my talents and with interview and getting all my clothes together for the casual and formal wear competition. I got to do a lot of dance and I made sure I worked really hard and I knew it was going to be super easy when I got there, " said Bubebchik.

Lexi studies dance at the local Melissa Marie School of Dance and for her talent portion of the competition she showed off her clog dancing skills for the judges. She is also a cheerleader and a member of the boys golf team at her high school. She says that she hopes the scholarship money along with her involvement in extracurricular activities will aid her in her dream to attend college.

" I would like to go to college at either Duke or Ohio State on a golf scholarship to study business and communications so that way I could be a side line reporter for ESPN or the Golf Channel," said BubeNchik.

on Thursday the county commissioners congratulated Lexi on her win and wished her luck in her future endeavors.
