Area youth are looking to break out and express themselves through music.

Kyle Carpenter is just one of many young people in Zanesville looking for a positive hobby to focus his  creative energy. To escape the fast life of the cities of Chicago and Salem, Virginia, Carpenter moved to town to get a new start and work on his music. The project has been three years in the making.

" We came up with idea to do a whole mix tape and it kind of just came to us all at once. We were able to put it all together where as before I could only do one at a time and we just want to release it right away," said Carpenter.

Carpernter released Sounds of Kyle Regurgitating the Past on Valentine’s Day and since then he says his music has picked up a substantial following. He says there is something for everyone on the mixtape.

" I had to struggle with some personal things and I kinda just wanted to talk about that in a way that was relatable to all kinds of people, " said Carpenter.

If you would like to listen or to download Kyle’s music he has a Facebook, Twitter and Band Camp Page for fans to check out. He hopes to start a movement and encourages people to follow their dreams.
