Officials from the city of Zanesville and Muskingum County county met for lunch on Monday.

Mayor Jeff Tilton says that a little over a year ago he decided to start bringing members of the city and county together over a meal . The group of a dozen or so meet every couple of months to discuss issues that they are facing.

"We really don’t make any decisions. We just talk maybe about snow, salt things that we are probably going to talk about today. A little bit of everything so yes it’s good," said Tilton.

Topics discussed at the lunch included testing for the New Zanesville Police Chief, salt and snow levels and cars and equipment for the Sheriff’s Department. There were a variety of public figures at the meeting to put in their input.

"Right now on our side we will have myself , budget, finance person public safety. Public Service Director, we are going to have the commissioners you see the sheriff and whoever else from the county," said Tilton.

The group will meet again in a few months.
