The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and the Zanesville Police Department joined forces to combat drug distribution in our area.

the five member joint drug task force raided two Zanesville residences earlier on Saturday, one at 626 Convers Avenue and the other located at 1102 Sharon Avenue.

"Both search warrants were a result of investigations over the last few months, both houses have been on our radar as well as both suspects. We took a male into custody here on converse, we took a female into custody on Sharon Avenue," said Sheriff Matt Lutz.

Sheriff Lutz says his team was unharmed during the raid, but they were forced to take action in two instances.

" We got a little bit of a resistance from this suspect that we had to take down to the ground and no resistance over there other than the fact that we did have to shot a dog that was aggressive towards our squad team," said Lutz

There was a small amount of heroin found at the Convers Avenue home and more details will be released at a later time.Sheriff Lutz says the next step in the investigation is to file charges and work on presenting a case to Muskingum County Prosecutor, Mike Haddox.
