Campus Safety Week is coming up and organizers invite you to come out to a series of educational, fun and free events.

The Director of Public Safety for Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State, Bethany Hayes says that this year they will have four days of activities for guests to participate in and the entire community is encouraged to come out.

"We have four different days planned, the first day is going to be awareness, the second day we will focus on prevention, the third day we will focus on crisis response and the last day we focus on safety, " said Hayes.

The Campus Public Safety Department has teamed up with a few local area response teams to bring interactive activities to visitors this year, including the Zanesville Fire Department.

" They will bring in the EMS crews. They will do free blood pressure checks, free sugar checks and they will also will show the ambulance. They will talk about what you do before a first responder personnel arrives on scene, so how you actually treat a patient and what you actually do, " said Hayes.

During the event organizers will be giving out free door prizes and information to take home. Campus safety week starts March 31 and ends on April 3. For more information you can visit the OUZ website. All events will be held at the Campus Center.
