Local business owners learned how improving customer service tactics can positively impact a business.
The Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce held the first of a series of seminars on customer service at the John McIntire Library. Chamber President, Tom Poorman says the informational meeting will help improve services in our area.
"It’s actually a business growth strategy." said Poorman. The better your services, the more business you retain locally and the more repeat customers you’re going to have so this is a great way for businesses to grow."
More than a hundred people showed up to hear guest speaker and Guests Relations Manager at the Columbus Zoo, Lisa Kristensen give her best advice on the topic. She says the key to great customer service is communication and businesses should use their customer service skills every day.
"It gives you a return on investment because you are going to increase those numbers if you look back at the percentages people that come in and have good customer service are 85 percent more likely to return, " said Kristensen.
The chamber board plans to have three or more similar seminars throughout the year featuring different guests speaker. During the event people were given a chance to ask questions and interact one on one with Kristensen.
