The Carr Center Cake Auction is set for Thursday and Friday and there’s still time to get involved.
So far the organizers say that there are 342 cakes with incentives registered for the event and they still have room for a total of 400 entries this year.
"You can still bring your cake even through you haven’t registered. A cake and incentive on Wednesday that’s cake check in day. We start pretty early and that’s going to go until 6 o’ clock on Wednesday at the Colony Square Mall," said Hosler.
If you would like to participate without bringing a cake to the auction, Zandex is offering 28 made to order cakes for first timers. People must provide an incentive package with the donated cakes. Hosler is also reminding people to come out to the mall on Wednesday starting at 6 p.m. for the People’s Choice Awards hosted by Huntington Bank.
" It’s such a surprise to see what people come up with. There’s just no limit to people’s creativity. Right now all of the bakers are going crazy trying to get all of our cakes ready for this event so if you know a baker hug one, " said Hosler.
If you can’t make it out on Wednesday, the official Carr Center Cake Auction will take place this Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will be broadcast live on AM 1240 radio and on our website at www.whiznews.com/cakeauction.
