The North Terrace Church of Christ held their first ever Community Easter Egg hunt on Saturday.

An estimated $3,000 people of all ages came to watch local children hunt for more 15,000 easter eggs. Along with the hunt, visitors enjoyed bounce houses, food and face painting. Lead Minister of the church, Matt Mehaffey says he hopes the crowds also took home an important message with them.

"Easter is really about the fact that Jesus has risen and that’s the most important message in the world. We are going to pull out all stops to get as many people here so that one or more person can here about the good news of Jesus, "said Mehaffey.

To help people better understand Easter, the church is holding three services on Sunday and invites the public to come out. The church aims to reach people of all spiritual levels.

"We’ll have programming for all ages I mean birth through 5th grade and of course, we have stuff for teenagers too so if they come out here the kids will have a great time and here that resurrection message about Jesus, "said Chidren’s Minister, Jeremy Bosshammer.

The first service will start at 8:30 a.m. and there will be another at 9:45 a.m. and also at 11 o’clock for late risers.
