If you’re looking for a chance to see local student’s artistic talents all in one place, look no further than right in the heart of Zanesville.

The Scholastic Art Exhibit is now open to the public at the Zanesville Museum of Art. Over 280 artists from Zanesville and Muskingum County Schools are represented in the annual showcase.

"We send invites out to every teacher, art teacher in Muskingum County and ask them to submit artworks from their class to show here in the Museum. We hang everything we get. We love the work, it’s by far one of my favorite shows of the year," said Andrew Near, Temporary Operations Manager at the Zanesville Museum of Art.

The artwork was created by students from kindergarten to twelfth grade. The work has been made soley by the students with a little help from their art teachers, of course.

"We have very top notch work here in Muskingum County. Our teachers are very creative and skilled at getting principles and not only composition and design but also sort of teaching their students how to think and be creative all that the same time," said Near.

This event was made possible by the Zanesville branch of the American Association of University Women. The exhibit will remain on display until April 19th.
