A world renowned Brazilian Jiu Jitsu trainer visited Zanesville on Saturday to teach local martial art students a few moves.

Magno Gama is a black belt fighter and trainer from the prestigious Renzo Gracie Academy in New York. This is his third time visiting our city and he says he loves the enthusiasm students here have to offer.

"Amazing, everybody is welcoming and very hospitable. People are very nice so I love coming out here it’s my third time and I hope to come back more often, " said Gama.

Gama taught visitors basic self defense techniques, mat workouts and fundamental exercises to keep fighters strong and agile.

" It’s an amazing cardiovascular workout. It definitely keeps your body toned doing the workout, and running and sit ups. It mentally makes you very strong as well, " said Gama.

If people missed the seminar, they can visit Dr. Karl Saunders of Orthopaedic Associates for lessons. He is also trained in the sport and welcomes new comers to come and learn the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
