The weather was perfect for families who attended the 14th Annual Zemba Brothers Family Field Day Sunday afternoon.
Troy Hindel of Zemba Brothers believes that today the event saw it’s largest turn out yet!
"You know the brothers had this crazy idea a long time ago to come up with this event for the community where the kids can come out and do something that they don’t normally get to do like run big equipment and it’s a great time," said Hindel, HR and Safety Director of Zemba Brother’s Inc.
Children operated construction equipment and learned archery. There were tractors operating hay rides and definitely a long line for the pony rides. Several bikes were lined up for the pedal pull and Medflight as well as EMT and Fire Departments made appearances. The National Guard came and even brought their bounce house.
"This year we’re proud to announce that the national guard came out and joined us," said Hindel. "You know we wouldn’t be able to do this if it wasn’t for the dedicated men and women of the armed forces so we’re proud to have them out here, so I hope everyone that was here went over and shook their hand."
The companies who donated and helped make today’s field event possible will have a choice of which charities the remaining proceeds will go toward. Two or three charities receive donations from the field day each year.
