Members of Muskingum County Engineer’s Office met with the Muskingum County Commissioners on Monday to discuss bid openings for an upcoming project.
The office is planning to replace a severely damaged bridge on Clay Pike near Pine Lake Rd. US Bridge submitted a bid proposal for just over $62,000. Administrative Deputy, Matt Russell says he believes bid is right on target.
" The estimate, we didn’t really have a good estimate because it’s a supply contract, but we thought it was going to be 50 to 60 thousand dollars," said Russell.
Once the bid is accepted the engineer’s office hopes to get the project finished in a timely manner.
"It will probably start within the next few months and it will be finished before summer is over, " said Russell.
The engineer’s office is also currently working on a bridge reconstruction on Green Valley Rd. in Chandlersville, where they will use recycled materials to save on costs.
