The parking lot of the North Terrace Church of Christ saw a little extra horsepower on Saturday.
The church hosted its first ever Car, Truck, and Bike Show to help raise money for the church’s missions trips. The first time for the event, coordinator Larry Eby said he didn’t know what to expect but was very pleased with the response.
"This is our first annual, hopefully, and by the way of the turnout, I think the public kind of likes it," Eby said. "We plan to have more."
The show, which ran from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. included over 50 entries and featured door prizes, a pastor’s choice award, an audience award, as well as a food stand. Admission to the event was free, but money was raised through entry fees, food sales, and donations.
"We’re just trying to look for ways that we can raise more money," Eby said. "We put a lot of money from the church into our missions here, and all the proceeds from this event will go to help pay for those who go out on our short term mission trips through the summers. So it just helps them to not have to raise so much funds."
Eby said there are several missions trips planned for this summer, including trips to Tennessee, Mississippi, and possibly even Haiti. If you’d like to learn more about the work the church is doing this summer, you can do so by visiting www.ntcoc.org.
