The Artist Colony of Zanesville is highlighting The Heart of Art Studio located on the first floor of the Masonic Temple as their featured artist of the month for May.

Artwork completed by the students at Starlight Industries Adult Shelter Workshop are on display and this month the work of talented artist, Becky Knicely is being featured. She has a few favorite subjects she enjoys to paint.

"Houses. Flowers and more Flowers." said Knicely.

Becky’s favorite color is purple and she also enjoys painting butterflies. Her art instructor says she has grown as an artist over the past year.

"She always liked to do art . She’s been involved in coming back to the studio with us, but always been the type of artist that likes to keep her own work pretty much or give it to a few special friends and family," said Diana Geidenberger.

Becky is finally ready to part with her art and if you are interested in viewing or purchasing a piece you can visit the Heart of Art Studio this Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the Art Walk. Becky’s stepfather and Author, Ken Drenten is also selling a book about Ohio mills and some of the proceeds will go back to the studio.
