For the third consecutive year, Sports Medicine Zanesville held a free sports physical clinic at Orthopedic Associates of Zanesville.
Hundreds of children from the surrounding school districts came to get the go ahead from local physicians to play their perspective sports for the upcoming school year. Student athletes were examined for various strengths and weaknesses.
" We check heart and lungs for sure. We check the vision, we check the blood pressure, we also go through a full orthopedic examination, shoulder strength, knee strength and overall spine alignment, " said D.O. , Samuel Finck.
The physical was completely free to visitors and met the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s standards. Organizers are pleased with this year’s large turnout.
" I think its been better this year than it has been even in previous years, and I think that’s a combination of the help that we have gotten from our local physicians here as well as our local trainers and schools getting out the information," said Finck.
The clinic ran from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday.
