The 2014 March of Dimes March for Babies took place Thursday evening.
The goal of the event – which was held at Ohio University Zanesville – is $50,000. It is the first walking event in the nation and has raised over 1.3 billion dollars in the past 41 years.
In Muskingum County over 250 walkers participated in the fun-filled event to raise money for the prevention of birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The activities also included a kid zone filled with activities for children, complimentary food and live music.
The annual event was hosted by AM 1240 Radio personality Brenda Larrick.
