Mid-East Students Celebrate Local Man

A local man is being recognized by an area high school for his contribution to education.

The Executive Director of the Muskingum County Center for Seniors, Terry Dunn, received an award on Thursday for helping Mid-East Career and Technology Students in the Restaurant Operations Program get hands on experience while the school’s kitchen was under renovation. Dunn offered the senior center’s facilities for on the job training for students.

" They have been at the center for this past year doing everything from mopping floors to dicing cucumbers, " said Dunn.

Dunn says that having the students at the center was not only beneficial to them, but to the seniors as well.

" It has worked great," said Dunn. "The students have really bonded with many of the seniors, they found what their needs are and tried to address them. "

To celebrate Dunn’s generosity , Mid-East faculty and graduation, students in the Restaurant Operations Program held a senior picnic with all of the fixings for their special guests.
