The staff at Genesis Community Ambulance is holding a special golf outing to raise money for an important cause.
The emergency response service is having its first Muscular Dystrophy Fundraiser and Golf Outing at Vista Golf Course. Organizers hope to bring awareness to the disease.
" Muscular Dystrophy is a big fundraiser for all of the fire departments throughout the country and many businesses. It touches home with me because two of my nephews have Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy so it’s definitely a home hitting disease as well," said Community Ambulance Director of Operations, Tom Edminson.
Tickets for the event are $50 per person and include a meal and beverage. People will also have the chance to get involved in a variety of fun activities in addition to golfing.
" We are going to have a photo booth, we’re going to have food, we are going to have a raffle, we are going to have obviously the golf is a big thing, we are going to have some longest drive and longest put outings as well, " said Edminson.
The golf outing will start approximately at 11a.m. on Sunday May 18. This year they hope to raise $2,500 and encourage the community to come out and support.
