The Zanesville -Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce held their first ever Spring Golf Outing at Eagle Sticks Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.

The event was held for chamber members to get to know each other and build professional relationships. Approximately 23 teams showed up to learn more about the chamber and businesses in our area.

"It gives us a chance to be face to face with our members. We do have different meeting throughout the year but not everybody can attend these, so as many chances as we have to talk to our members face to face the better it is for us to serve them, " said Dana Matz, Membership Services Director.

The outing also served as a way for local business owners to relax , regroup and take time away from their busy schedules to enjoy a popular past time.

" The downtime for these folks to be able to get away from the grind of work is good and there are some people that have brought clients with them and some people have rewarded employees by letting them have day or afternoon off to golf, so there is multiple things being served at this outing,"said Matz.

There was a fee to attend the outing that will be used towards maintaining the chamber of commerce. During the event guests won prizes and were given a picnic style lunch. It is expected to become an annual outing.
