The Genesis Community Ambulance held their 1st Annual Golf Scramble Event Sunday afternoon.
The Vista View Golf Course in Nashport was full of golfers swinging for a great cause. The event today also included a Chinese raffle, cookout and awards for golfers. First place winners won $50 dollar gift cards, second place winners received $25 dollar gift cards, and prizes also went to the longest drive and the longest putt.
The Genesis Community Ambulance is a non-profit organization dedicated to giving back to the communities they serve. The Community Ambulance goal was to raise $2,500 dollars for Muscular Dystrophy—–they expect to be close or over their goal.
"Muscular dystrophy his home to me," said Tom Edminson,
Director of Genesis Community Ambulance. "Two of my nephews have Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy, so i like to do a lot of fundraising with that specific charity. It obviously hits home. But muscular dystrophy is one that most fire departments throughout the nation are very involved with as far as collecting money for that fund."
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in care of the Duchennes Disease Division.
