The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado with an estimated maximum wind speed of 145 mph stuck near Cedarville in Western Ohio. A preliminary statement from the Weather Service says the Wednesday evening twister probably rates as an EF3 on the O-to-5 scale. No injuries were reported, but the tornado destroyed two houses and several other buildings as strong storms moved through the state. The Dayton Daily News reports fire crews rescued seven people from the basement of a house that was flattened near Cedarville. They were not injured.
