It’s national tourism week and the Zanesville- Muskingum County Convention and Visitors Bureau is getting in on the action.
Chamber Vice President, Kelly Ashby says tourism week is a time to thank visitors’ for their patronage and educate the public about the attractions our area has to offer. She says this is the perfect time to celebrate tourism.
" It is when all of our museums and attractions are open for the season so lots of places to get out and explore and lots of things to see and do in Muskingum County so it’s our time to talk about the Wilds and the John and Annie Glenn Museum and the Museum of Art and Stone academy, " said Ashby.
Ashby says that tourism and travel to Muskingum County brings jobs and money into our local community in a significant way.
"This is the time that we remind everyone about the huge economic impact that tourism has on our local economy. A $173 million spent here in Muskingum County when travelers come into the area," said Ashby.
