Day 2 of the search for the missing men in the river has been unsuccessful so far.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) says the Zanesville and Falls Township Fire Departments along with helicopters from the Highway Patrol and the Division of Wildlife were working the river.
Jason Latchic, Area Supervisor for the ODNR, and Division of Watercraft Cambridge Field Office says, "We have a boat going upstream that is running sidescan sonar unit to try to look for any imaging on the surface of the bottom of the river."
Another boat downstream was focused on visual searches.
Sheriff Lutz says the heavy rains are making the river tough to deal with.
"The current is very heavy right now and so it has caused some problems. The division of watercraft thought they found the boat last night over here behind the purina factory and they could not locate it this morning."
The identities of the two men are still unknown. Officials urge the public to come forward if they have any information that can help in the investigation.
