The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol announces details on the sobriety checkpoint in Muskingum County Friday…

The Patrol says the checkpoint will take place from 8pm to 10pm Friday evening on Maple Avenue in Zanesville.  The checkpoint will take place just north of Kay Drive. The State Highway Patrol, the Zanesville Police Deparment, and the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office will conduct the checkpoint.

The OVI checkpoint, funded through federal grants, is meant to deter and intercept impaired drivers. It will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggresively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver, or make other travel arrangments before you drink.
