The Muskingum County Library System is receiving feedback from community members about their programs and services as a part of their strategic planning process.
More than 2,000 surveys were mailed into the library by the public. From these responses, the library system can now consider improving in specific areas.
" I think people want continued convenience of access, be it locations, hours or online and they want the library to work together with the community to make sure that we have an informed population and people get an early start with reading and then they can grow and chase their dreams," said Blair Tom, Assistant Director at John McIntire Library.
On Wednesday, a library committee made up of community members will review the information and the library board will receive a report from their input this July. Until then the library is focusing on their Summer Reading Program. Early registration starts this Saturday.
" Our goal is to have 3,100 children register in summer reading and that they will read and report 110,000 books during the six week period, so it will be a very active place this summer and we are very excited," said Tom.
Early registration will be held at John McIntire Library this Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m and all six location next Monday.
