Muskingum County Gearing up for All-Star Game

In all-star games there is no sure way to predict what is going to happen. A group of players on the field together for the first time, it will be a test of will and skill.

Muskingum County head coach Chad Grandstaff and his squad are in the final stages of preparing for Friday night’s game at White Field. The Muskingum County team lost a season ago and this year’s group of seniors are looking to avenge that loss. This group is no stranger to winning either. This group has players from four teams that seven wins or more this past season.

Coach Grandstaff has stressed that turnovers are key in games like this because you never know how many possessions you are going to get. It also comes down to special teams because these players don’t get a chance to work on it very much in the little practice time they have. The game is Friday night at 7:30 at White Field in Newark and can be heard on Z92 as well as seen on TV in a rebroadcast on Saturday.

Williams Chooses Ohio

Athens running back Trae Williams verbally committed to the Ohio Bobcats on Tuesday night. Williams, son of Ohio DL coach Jesse Williams, made the announcement on Twitter. The Bulldogs will travel to Zanesville on Sept. 5 to battle the Blue Devils. Athens quarterback Joe Burrow is also a DI recruit. Burrow committed to Ohio State in late May.
