Red Cross is Getting a New Home

The Muskingum Valley Chapter of the Red Cross is getting a new home.

It’s been located on 7th Street in Zanesville since the mid 1940’s on Thursday the organization will move into their new building at 7650 East Pike.

"We are finally going to be handicap accessible," said Marlene Henderson, Executive Director. " It’s all on one floor. We have more square footage there than what we do here and that’s just a few of the many wonderful benefits. "

Other benefits include being more centrally located to the six counties they serve. Henderson says that the move is still bittersweet.

"This building has served our communities since 1945. People know that the Red Cross is here and we are not leaving, we are just moving to another location," said Henderson.

Friday, July 27th will be the official opening of the new Red Cross building in Norwich . Until then feel free to give the Red Cross a call at their current location for more information. Organizers are planning an open house celebration for the public soon.
