Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz Thursday released some additional information on the investigation into the decomposed body found in the river this week. The Sheriff says the initial autopsy showed there were no injuries or trauma noted on the body of 67-year-old John Bartholow of Blue Rock. He was found Tuesday evening in the Muskingum River just north of the 719 Bridge after going missing a couple weeks earlier. Lutz says he still can’t confirm or deny that the cause of death was drowning due to decomposition of the body. Lutz says that Bartholow did not suffer from any major illnesses. He says a final ruling won’t be made until the toxicology report is final.
