A sobriety checkpoint will take place in Muskingum County on Friday.
Lt. Matt Boyd says the safety event is funded by federal grants and is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
There were 309 drunken driving related fatal crashes in which 341 people were killed last year in Ohio. Lt Boyd says State Troopers make an average of 25-thosuand arrests each year in an attempt to combat these dangerous drivers.
The location and time of the checkpoint will be announced Friday morning.
