Votto Back; Polanco Makes Debut

The Reds have been hoovering around .500 for most of the season, but they may have finally caught a break. Earlier this afternoon first baseman Joey Votto was activated of the 15 day disabled list and should be in the starting line up tonight.

Votto is a former National League Most Valuable Player and has been out with a quad injury which has healed enough to get him back on the field. Votto skeptics have said that he will not be 100 percent the rest of the season, but Votto wants to play and give his best. Reds host the Dodgers tonight at Great American Ball Park.

Staying in the NL Central, tonight will mark the much anticipated debut of Pirates top prospect Gregory Polanco. The Right Fielder was called up and inserted in to the starting lineup to replace the injuried Neil Walker who is on the 15 day DL after having an apomdectemy.

Polanco is ranked by some as the third best prospect in the league and he will start in right tonight against the Cubs.
