Golfers gathered at the Vista Golf Course Saturday to raise money for a local organization.
Vista hosted the eighth annual golf scramble with 15 teams participating in the event. The golfers enjoyed Bill’s Barbecue after their rounds, served by the Eastside Community Ministry participants. All of the money raised Saturday helps Eastside Ministry. Executive Director Anna Marie Katt said they raised around $4,000 last year, and they hope to continue that success.
"We would love to expand it," Katt said. "We keep trying every year–this is our eighth year. Each year we get a lot of the same people back and also some new ones."
There were also individual hole contests including a hole-in-one contest at the 18th. The winner had the chance to win a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic. The course may have been wet from the early morning rain, but it didn’t stop the teams from having a great time.
