After being closed for two-hours due to an accident, both lanes of State Route 146 at the Vickers Hill Road intersection reopened around 5:40 Tuesday evening.
Sgt. Melanie Appleman with the State Highway Patrol says a white van was traveling eastbound on State Route 146. It had stopped to turn left onto Vickers Hill Road around 3:40 p.m. when it was rear-ended by a blue Cadillac. A third car struck the back of the Cadillac which was forced into the oncoming lane striking a semi that was heading westbound on 146.
"It’s definitely going to be an assured clear distance, failure to stop right behind another vehicle. We’re not certain the time frame of who hit who when, but the blue car was forced out into the semi. There was only one person transported to the er by squad. Licking township squad was out here and assisted us. The driver of the blue car was transported. She was alert and talking, so that’s a good sign," said Sgt. Appleman.
The drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles.
