Local celebrities laced up their dancing shoes Saturday evening.
The fourth annual "Dancing with the Divas" event was held at the Eaglesticks Golf Club Saturday night. Co-host, Keely Ledebur said the event allowed eight local celebrities to compete in a dance competition to raise money for the charity of their choice.
"Each of the celebrities have picked a charity that they want to represent," Ledebur said. "They’ve been out working ahead of time to raise money and then they’re collecting money here tonight. The person who raises the most money here tonight actually becomes our people’s choice winner. We have several other awards to give out, too."
WHIZ’s own Brian Wagner got to co-host the event. The tickets ran at $25 a piece, and those who attended got to enjoy a silent auction, dinner, drinks, music and dance performances. Leanne Bader-Mock said she feels people enjoy the fundraiser because of its uniqueness and local ties.
"Because of its unique way of being put together and that we do it right here in Zanesville. The amount of money that we’ve raised in the past years–$20,000 every year–so we hope to top tonight, that $20,000 mark."
If you didn’t get to attend the event, WHIZ will be airing it for you two different days. The first will be Sunday, July 27 at 11:30 a.m. and then again on Saturday, August 2 at 1:00 p.m.
