The summer is the perfect time of year for cold tasty treats and Zanesville features one of the most famous places to enjoy homemade ice cream.

Tom"s Ice Cream Bowl is celebrating National Ice Cream Month with fresh flavors for the summer season. Owner Bill Sullivan said they’ve enjoyed having a month all about ice cream.

"It’s been a good month for us, people have been coming in we got a couple articles from magazines about us," said Sullivan. "People have been traveling around. It’s been a good summer, there’s been a lot going on in zanesville with the pottery lovers and so it’s been a good summer."

Tom’s Ice Cream serves 28 flavors of ice cream and some stick around all year while they experiment with fresh flavors to keep it interesting. Sullivan said they make sure to keep up with all the ice cream trends around the country.

"We kind of develop our own flavors, so the popular ones that are currently popular, we read magazines, we travel all around the country, we look at different things and whatever’s popular we try to duplicate that," said Sullivan. We come in and make all the ice cream right here."

Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl has been serving the local community their original recipe ice cream since 1948 and they want to thank the local community for the ongoing support.
