A prominent Zanesville man has died.  Robert Nicholas passed away this weekend at the Helen Purcell Home.  He was actively involved in downtown Zanesville, a member of the Downtown Business Association and organized the annual Veteran and Christmas parades.  That success led to Nicholas being  Marshall of the Zane Trace Commemoration parade at its peak of 250 units.  He was also active in many civic groups.  Calling hours are on Sunday from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11 a.m. Monday.  Nicholas will take his final journey by horse drawn hearse to Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. He was 93-years-old.
