The 11th annual Rib Fest took place at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday.

Rib Fest features 14 different vendors. People who came had the chance to enjoy live music, good company, and of course, the ever popular ribs. If you arent a fan of the rib, you could purchase chicken, fish and other fried food. Ernie Bynum C.E.O of The Minority Business Resource Network of Southeastern Ohio says he feels the musical and social aspect keeps people coming back.

"The music. You meet people that you haven’t seen all year long. Fraternisation. Networking, I mean it’s amazing. If you just stand around and listen."

Attendance was estimated at 7,000 or 8,000 people both evenings. Vendors who took part in the event were able to enter their ribs into a taste contest. As far as those attending, their favorite thing about the event was unanimous.

"Well my best thing is coming down here and getting the good food and listening to the good music."

"Well you can eat all the food and you can have lots of fun."

"I’m a brisket man. I think brisket’s the hardest but if you do it right it’s the best."

The event began at 4PM and ran to midnight.
