The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol said that a portion of Interstate 70 is completely open Thursday morning after a series of accidents, Wednesday.
The first crash took place around 6pm near Quaker City in Guernsey County. It involved a semi and a pick-up truck. The driver of the pick-up suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Columbus hospital from Southeastern Ohio Medical Center.
Three other crashes took place within a ten mile stretch during the same time, none serious.
Troopers said the roadway was wet due to a rain shower but can’t say for certain that’s what caused all the accidents.
Interstate 70 east was shut down briefly and then reopened to one lane. The Ohio Department of Transportation officially opened all lanes around 2:30 Thursday morning.
