If you like classic cars, the Cambridge Classic Car Cruise-In was the place to be this afternoon.
Hot rods to tricked out trucks and every type of car in-between could be seen from 11:00am to 6:00pm Saturday. Karen Boyer, Chairman of the Cambridge Classic Car Cruise-In talked about the show’s long history and just how many cars can be seen lining Weeling Ave.
"The car show has been going on in downtown Cambridge, this is our 28th year. It keeps growing year, after year, after year. We average anywhere from 250 to 290 cars "
More than 100 awards were given out Saturday afternoon. The judges looked for possible flaws in the car as well as overall cleanliness. Cars were placed in categories such as modified, stock, special interest and by year, then ranked on a scale from one to ten. The honor of best of show overall today was awarded to Mark and Karen Fowler of Cambridge.
In addition to bringing cool cars to the streets of town, the show brings around 5,000 people downtown for the weekend, helping to stimulate their local economy.
